DC’s Southeast quadrant, which accounts for about one-fifth of the District’s land, is bisected by the Anacostia River. This area draws a mix of residents and continues to grow, thanks in large part to the addition of Nationals Park and its surrounding bars and restaurants. The Yards is another hot, new, mixed-use development that is breathing new life into the area with its upscale shops, salons, fine dining establishments, office space, and homes for both rent and sale. Other nearby points of interest include the Library of Congress, Eastern Market, the Marine Barracks at 8th & I, the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, and the Navy Yard. Many excellent restaurants can be found along Barracks Row and in the area around Eastern Market. The Blue, Orange, Green, and Silver lines of the Washington Metro all have Southeast Quadrant stops. Capitol Riverfront (Navy Yard), Congress Heights, part of Capitol Hill, Hillcrest, Barry Farm are all popular Southeast neighborhoods.
Local Real Estate
Real estate in the Southeast Quadrant is a mix of rowhomes, modern condo buildings, and some Colonial and Tudor single-family homes.
