What IS a Self-Directed IRA?
Fast forward to 2014. That’s the year I started my business as a real estate investor after working as an architect and a residential construction project manager. About that time, I learned of the self-directed IRA. Unlike the typical IRA, a self-directed IRA allows you to invest your retirement money in a wide range of things not related to the stock market, including real estate. You can have more control over your money’s growth and just like a traditional IRA, the additional earnings/interest are tax free. Purchase an investment property through your IRA! There are plenty of rules and requirements, but it’s well worth the time and effort. I purchased a property in 2015 with my IRA and found that within 12 months, my investment had already returned a 16% profit!
