Located where Dogue Creek meets the Potomac River, is the lovely neighborhood of Yacht Haven Estates. It is bordered by Ferry Landing Road to the north, Mount Vernon Memorial Highway to the west, and the Potomac River to the east and south.

Yacht Haven Estates Real Estate

Yacht Haven’s 186 homes were primarily built in the 1950s and 1960s. Most homes are in the 1,400-4,000 square foot range (with a few larger and a few smaller) and sited on generous half acre lots. Many homes have been expanded and a few new homes have been built since 2015. Homes on some streets (Dolphin Lane and Neptune Drive) are waterfront.

Yacht Haven Estates Community

Mount Vernon Yacht Club, founded in 1956, offers an active social scene for residents of Yacht Haven. It hosts both casual and formal events throughout the year as well as an active swim team, power fleet, and sail fleet.  The club has a 100-slip marina that can accommodate boats up to 50’ and offers easy access to Dogue Creek and the Potomac River.

History abounds around Yacht Haven Estates. Visit George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and Grist Mill, both just short drives from the neighborhood. Also nearby is the Woodlawn Plantation & Frank Lloyd Wright’s famed Pope-Leighey House. Walk to Grist Mill Park to walk your dog or for your child’s soccer game. Golfers will enjoy Yacht Haven’s proximity to the Mount Vernon Country Club. Enjoy a fine dinner and fabulous river views at the Cedar Knoll restaurant.
