Just south of Old Town Alexandria and the Capital Beltway is the woodsy and homey neighborhood of Wilton Woods. This wedge-shaped neighborhood is bordered by Franconia and Telegraph Roads and Fort Hill Drive.
Local History
Wilton Woods homes were built on land once owned by a friend of George Washington’s family. Charles Crain, a local developer, began construction on the first of the neighborhood’s homes in 1941.
Local Real Estate
Wilton Woods’ approximately 300 single family homes are primarily the original Colonial style Crain chose. The majority of these homes were built in the 1960s and 1970s. The newer homes, while larger than the originals homes, retain this same traditional look. Most homes have four to five bedrooms and in the 2,000-3,000 square foot range. Homes currently sell from the high $500,000s to the mid $800,000s.
