Bucknell Manor, south of Old Town Alexandria between Route 1 and Fort Hunt Road, is a subdivision of about 600 detached Cape Cod-style “starter” homes set on small lots. Today, many of its homes have been expanded and or knocked down to build larger homes. Recent sales show that three-bedroom homes sell in the upper $300Ks and four-bedrooms generally sell from the mid-$400K to mid-$500Ks.
Bucknell Manor is within walking distance close to public transportation, shopping, a library, and schools.
A Fairfax County ice skating rink and swimming pool, and a marina are a five-minute walk from the neighborhood. Golfers can enjoy the beautiful Belle Haven Country Club just five minutes away. The nearby Mount Vernon trail offers scenic walking and biking. Off the trail, residents can also explore Dyke Marsh, one of the largest remaining freshwater tidal wetlands in the DC area.
Bucknell Manor residents can easily grab dinner at nearby Del Ray Pizza (Belle Haven) or Dishes of India or just pick up a bottle of wine at Unwined.
