Bucknell Manor, south of Old Town Alexandria between Route 1 and Fort Hunt Road, is a subdivision of about 600 detached Cape Cod-style “starter” homes set on small lots. Today, many of its homes have been expanded and or knocked down to build larger homes. Recent sales show that three-bedroom homes sell in the upper $300Ks and four-bedrooms generally sell from the mid-$400K to mid-$500Ks.

The nearby Mount Vernon trail offers scenic walking and biking. Off the trail, residents can also explore Dyke Marsh, one of the largest remaining freshwater tidal wetlands in the DC area.
