Outdoor Fitness Classes in the DC Area

We love spending time working out in the outdoors! It’s a fun way to work out and enjoy the nice weather without being cooped up inside. We’ve rounded up a few of our favorite outdoor workout classes in the area. We’d love to hear how you like the classes! If you know of any others, we would love to feature them!

Alexandria

Sarge Fitness Boot Camp

Located in Chinquapin Park at the upper tennis courts, Sarge Fitness Boot Camp is a high-intensity outdoor workout. This boot camp offers a great mix of lower/upper body, abdominal, and cardio with special physical challenges and hill workouts mixed in to keep you on your toes during your workout. Barre 3 Old Town

Enjoy the waterfront scenery by doing one of the Barre 3 outdoor barre classes on the dock at Robinson Pier. Barre3 is a full-body balanced workout combining strength conditioning, cardio, and mindfulness that will leave you feeling balanced in body and empowered from within. Yoga on the Magnolia Terrace at The Carlyle House

Say “namaste” to an hour-long Vinyasa Flow Yoga on Carlyle House’s Magnolia Terrace. This yoga session will help you unwind from the stresses of the workday. The classes take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7 pm or start your weekend off right on Saturday from 10-11 am. Classes are $10 per person or $40 for 5 class passes. Bring water, a mat, and a towel, and book a spot for Yoga on the Magnolia Terrace today. 

Friday Flex with Follow Thru Fitness 

If you are looking for a free workout that leaves you feeling great, look no further than Friday Flex with Follow Thru Fitness. Led by Alexa Chili, this full-body workout contains weights, conditioning, strength training, and fun. TreWell Fitness

Sue works out with TreWell Fitness. Trewell Fitness offers personal training with individuals and small groups anywhere outdoors in Alexandria or Arlington. Sue works out with Trevor from Trewell Fitness three days a week at a local Alexandria park. Visit Trewellfitness for personal training options. 

Washington, DC

Cut Seven 

Located in DC, Cut Seven is a great place to schedule a workout. Cut Seven focuses on different muscle groups each day, allowing you to work out and recover simultaneously. Take part in an intense workout outdoors, either at their Open-Air Studio on 14th or on the Union Market rooftop. Whether you choose an indoor or outdoor workout, you are guaranteed to break a sweat. Outdoor Yoga at The Wharf 

Taught by District Flow Yoga, Outdoor Yoga at The Wharf is a perfect way to unwind from the day or will be a great way to kickstart your day. Taking place every Tuesday at 6 pm or Sunday at 9 am on Transit Pier in DC, take part in relaxing yoga with a great view of the water. Bhakti Yoga DC 

Offered on Sundays at 9 am, Bhakti Yoga DC offers an outdoor class that will continue to unwind you and get you in the right mood for the upcoming week. Located at the park on the corner of Seventh and K Street NW. Learn more about the outdoor yoga class at Bhakti Yoga DC
