First Night Alexandria

Dance your way into the New Year at First Night Alexandria, a spectacular celebration of the performing arts taking place at over 20 locations around Old Town. Local retail stores, churches, museums, and public buildings are transformed into performance venues, featuring both local and regional artists. The Mount Vernon Rec Center hosts a kids’ carnival with face painting and other activities for families and pets! Head over to the Torpedo Factory in the afternoon for the 9th Annual Fun Hunt. New Year’s Eve Party at Vola’s Dockside Grill

Enjoy a perfect view of the New Year’s fireworks on the river from the patio at Vola’s Dockside Grill! Vola’s New Years’ Eve Party begins at 9pm and includes an open bar, oyster raw bar, chocolate truffles, and a champagne toast at midnight. Purchase tickets on presale for $50, or $75 at the door.

Bluegrass at the Birchmere

Live music performances kick off at 8pm on New Year’s Eve at The Birchmere Music Hall! This internationally-recognized music hall in Del Ray will host the bands The Seldom Scene, The Eastman String Band, and The Plate Scrapers. If you love American bluegrass and live music, The Birchmere Music Hall is the place to be on to ring in the New Year. Tickets are $39.50 and available here.

Blackwall Hitch’s Four Course Dinner

Ring in the the New Year with a delicious four-course dinner at Blackwall Hitch offered in three seatings at 6pm, 7:30pm, and 9:30pm. The menu includes soup and salad courses, an entree, and dessert! Live music starts at 9:30pm with a performance by DC-based, soul blues band, Vintage #18.
