Ever wanted to walk your dog along the beautiful Alexandria waterfront with hundreds of other dogs and their owners? Now is your chance! The first-ever ALX Dog Walk will take place at 8 am on April 2 along the Old Town Alexandria waterfront.

Beginning in Oronoco Bay Park, over 500 dogs and their humans will walk along the waterfront walk to the Robinson Landing pier. A judging group at Robinson Pier will choose winners from categories including funniest personality, biggest ears, fluffiest tail, best groomed, and best-recycled costume. The Dog Store in Del Ray will also award a $100 gift card to each winner. Walkers will also receive a goodie bag, a t-shirt, and breakfast refreshments at check-in.

DASH Bus has also offered a “DASH Doggie Shuttle” to help transport walkers and their dogs to and from the dog walk event. Chuck Bell, a Meteorologist NBC 4, is the honorary emcee along with our Honorary Co-Chairs, Mayor Justin Wilson and Monte Durham of “Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta.” Bell, Wilson, and Durham will help kick-off the event and celebrate at the post-walk awards party.
