Fall Market

Four Ways to Prepare Your Home for the Fall Market

September 20, 2021 | Selling Your Home | By: The Goodhart Group

If you’re thinking of selling this fall, here are four great ways to make sure your home is ready for potential fall home buyers.

1. Tidy Up the Yard

Leaves sure are pretty when they change colors on the trees this time of year. However, they definitely aren’t pretty when they’re dead and covering an otherwise nice looking lawn, so make sure you get those raked and cleaned up. Also make sure you cut tree limbs that block the exterior of the home.

2. Create Autumn Curb Appeal

Plant flowers like mums or marigolds for a nice fall touch. You can also add nice, inexpensive accents like pumpkins or squash to your front doorstep for a cute seasonal look. Definitely don’t overdo it though, you don’t want your porch to look like a pumpkin patch. (For more curb appeal ideas check out this post)

3. Wipe Down Windows

The start of a new season is always a great time to dust off and wash your window screens. It’s also a great time to do some basic cleaning like removing any finger print smudges or marks from pets.

 4. Clean Out the Fireplace

This task is a little tougher, but be sure to vacuum or wipe down the fire place as it likely hasn’t been used in several months.

As you can see, prepping your home for the fall market is fairly easy and can definitely be done with some style too.
