Located in the Belle Haven section of Alexandria, The Belle Haven Country Club (BHCC) is centered around an 18-hole course, renovated by renowned architect Arthur Hills. Known for its annual Four Ball Tournament (established in 1949) which ushers in the spring amateur season, and a more recent addition, the Patriot Day Golf Classic, area golfers flock to BHCC! This club also offers practice facilities, a full service pro shop, fitness center, aerobics room, children’s center, seasonal swimming pool, as well as steam and sauna rooms.
Tennis lovers will enjoy BHCC’s eight outdoor, clay tennis courts, two seasonal platform tennis courts, five indoor DecoTurf courts, and a dedicated tennis pro shop.
BHCC has both formal and informal restaurants, family dining, a bar and lounge, terrace and patio dining. A beautiful ballroom and meeting rooms with sweeping views are home to many special events. Members cherish annual celebrations such as Easter Fun Day, Easter Brunch, Mother’s Day Brunch, Independence Day Celebration, the Halloween Extravaganza, Thanksgiving Buffet, Breakfast with Santa, New Year’s Eve and more in its stately clubhouse.

Mount Vernon Country Club (MVCC) boasts an 18-hole course that winds through the original forest of George Washington’s Mount Vernon plantation! Nearby Dogue Creek offers a water hazard challenge on 14 of Mount Vernon’s 18 holes. MVCC is an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary golf course, meaning it demonstrates the highest degree of environmental commitment to its surroundings. Click here for a course tour.
MVCC is well-known for its wide range of golf offerings: juniors programs and family tees, summer social play on Tuesday and Friday evenings, the retired men’s golf team, pro-scrambles, and the pro-member invitational. The club has an active social scene as well, offering events like Mom & Dad’s Night Out, New Year’s Eve Casino Night, Irish Pub Style Trivia Night, Texas Hold ‘Em tournaments, movie nights, a Halloween Haunted House, Chef’s cooking class for kids and even dueling piano events!
MVCC offers many dining options, from the Dining Room, to the Members Grill with five HD TVs, to the outdoor Barracuda Grill. Golfers can call the “At the Turn Grill” from the phone at the 9th tee and their orders will await them at the 10th hole!
The club, located in the Fairfax County section of Alexandria, also hosts weddings and other special events.

Army Navy Country Club

Located in south Arlington (with a second location in Fairfax), Army Navy Country Club (ANCC) offers 54 championship holes, as well as award-winning tennis facilities, six swimming pools, and a fitness center. The many offerings for youth and families, including onsite child care, are quite popular. Several membership options are available, including special options for members of the military and federal employees. Open since 1924, ANCC is true DC area institution.
Washington Golf & Country Club

Nicknamed the “Playground of Presidents,” Washington Golf & Country Club in north Arlington has been open since 1894! Presidents Taft, Coolidge, Harding and Wilson were all active golfers at this club. Donald Ross and William Flynn designed this course in 1915. With sloped fairways and rolling greens, this course challenges all levels of golfers. Its terrific views and immaculate fairways will delight any golfer or visitor.
