From where to sit and how to get there to our favorite restaurants near the stadium, here’s everything you need to know before heading to the ballpark.
“A Washington Nationals game isn’t just about baseball — it’s one of the best summer experiences in Washington, DC.”
A Quick History of the Washington Nationals
The Washington Nationals arrived in DC in 2005, bringing Major League Baseball back to the District after more than 30 years without a team. The franchise relocated from Montreal and quickly became part of the city’s sports culture.
In 2008, the team moved into Nationals Park, located along the Anacostia River in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood.
After several strong seasons during the 2010s, the Nationals made history in 2019 when they won their first World Series, defeating the Houston Astros in Game 7. It was Washington’s first baseball championship since the Washington Senators won the title in 1924.
Today, Nationals Park remains one of the most enjoyable places to watch baseball in the country.
