One of the best ways to beat the summertime heat in our area is to hit one of the many Alexandria pools! Alexandria offers a variety of both public and private pool options between Alexandria City and the Fairfax County portion of Alexandria; truly something for everyone!

City of Alexandria Pools

Cameron Run Regional Park, home of Great Waves Waterpark located at 4001 Eisenhower Ave. Great Waves Waterpark offers a wave pool, four-story waterslides and snack bar, plus a shallow-water play pool. Prices:

Under Age 2: Free

Under 48” height: $13.00 weekdays, $14.00 weekends & holidays

48” height or more: $16.50 weekdays, $17.50 weekends & holidays

Age 55 and older: $10.50 weekdays, $11.25 weekends & holidays

After 4 p.m.: $10.00

Chinquapin Park Recreation Center located at 3210 King St. This 25-meter indoor pool offers visitors aquatic sports and fitness classes as well as access to diving boards. Prices:

Child (ages 0-4): Resident, free. Non-resident, $2
Youth (ages 5-17): Resident, $6. Non-resident, $7
Adult (18+): Resident, $9. Non-resident, $12

Adult w/ Youth: Resident, $1. Non-resident, $4.

Old Town Pool located at 1609 Cameron St. This outdoor pool offers not only entertainment in the water but also on dry ground, with a tot playground adjacent to the pool and picnic area. This is the only one of the Alexandria pools located in Old Town. Daily Admission Prices:

Child (ages 0-4): $0
Youth (ages 5-17): $3
Adult (age 18-59): $4
Senior (age 60+): $3
Non-resident: $6

Warwick Pool located at 3301 Landover St. A 25-yard outdoor pool, Warwick Pool offers a picnic area and playground just across from the pool area to keep your kids entertained. Daily Admission Prices:

Child (ages 0-4): $0
Youth (ages 5-17): $3
Adult (age 18-59): $4
Senior (age 60+): $3
Non-resident: $6

Memorial Pool located inside Charles Houston Recreation Center at 901 Wythe St. This small pool with a beach entry and spray features is ideal for families with young children and adults seeking therapeutic benefits. Admission wristbands must be purchased at the Recreation Center and are limited to 75 participants at any one time. Operating hours and fees are subject to change.

Dowden Terrace, located at 6300 Holmes Run Parkway, is a private, membership-based pool club.  It offers swim team and lessons and a variety of social activities.

While there are certainly options in the City of Alexandria, some of the most popular Alexandria pools and swim clubs are found in the Fairfax County portion of Alexandria, specifically south Alexandria down the GW Parkway. Private South Alexandria Pools

Hollin Meadows Swim & Tennis Club is located in the Hollin Hills Community and is a five-plus acre complex in a wooded setting. HM includes a 25 meter pool with 12-foot diving well, 2-foot shallow end, and lap lanes, and enclosed wading pool for toddlers, five tennis courts, a Ping Pong Table and Cornhole, a children’s play area, an exercise area, swimming and tennis instruction, growing membership in a close-knit community, and family activities and social events (22306).

Belle Haven Country Club, located just south of Old Town, offers both an eight-lane pool and a kiddie pool for those under six years of age. The club also offers eight outdoor clay tennis courts and five indoor DecoTurf courts, allowing for year-round play.  Golfers will love the 18 hole Arthur Hills-designed course at Belle Haven. The club offers a variety of teams, tournaments and social activities for its members. (22307)

Hollin Hills Pool is located in the Hollin Hills Community and offers aerobics classes, swimming instructions, two water slides, a separate 30 foot shaded wading pool for toddlers, a playground area, dinner at the pool, food trucks, and other social events, free wifi, and a private party area.

Little Hunting Park is located on a secluded 10 acres just south of Old Town. Facilities include a six-lane, 25-meter pool, a separate diving well with diving board, a wading pool for children 5 and under, a play area and swings, four lighted tennis courts available year-round, a sport court, including basketball, shuffleboard, four-square, and tennis, the Gator Grill, a shaded picnic area, a party and picnic/barbeque facilities, a basketball half-court, and a sand volleyball court. Mount Vernon Park is set on nearly 13 acres of wooded parkland, the Park is the focus of summer activity for 600 families. MVP members enjoy 3 pools (25-meter, 50-meter, and wading), 4 lighted tennis courts (open year round), a large picnic area with grills, grass volleyball court, a children’s playground, a covered pavilion, and a 1-acre pond for fishing.

Riverside Gardens Pool is located in the back of the Riverside Gardens neighborhood providing a private and safe environment. Facilities include a zero-entry shallow, a slide for toddlers, a 25-meter pool, a diving board, a pool house with restrooms, showers, and changing rooms, a picnic area, grills, tennis courts, a playground, and a sand volleyball court. Waynewood Recreation Association is located in the heart of the Waynewood neighborhood and serves as a gathering spot for the community. Facilities include two 25-meter swimming pools, one with Duraflex diving board, one Waterslide with 48-foot slide run, a fenced baby wading pool, over 300 pieces of deck furniture (chairs, lounges, tables, and umbrellas), over 24,000 sq. ft. of new concrete decks, night lighting (pool and deck), a large pool house, one enclosed basketball court, three enclosed tennis courts, two baseball diamonds, a horseshoe pit, a children’s playground including swings, merry-go-round, slide, jungle gym, monkey bars, a sandbox. The pool is operated by a professional pool management company and staffed by qualified and certified personnel. (22308)

Stratford Recreation Association is located in the Stratford Landing neighborhood and has a recently renovated pool which includes a zero-entry shallow end with bubblers at the entrance. There is a fenced in baby pool with covered area. There is a pool house with showers, restrooms and changing area. The concessions area has covered seating and tables along with vending machines. It is also the area used during Family Nights and swim meets for grilling hamburgers, hot dogs and serving other food. Members may use the grills when not in use for family nights. There are four tennis courts available for members to use when there are no lessons, team practices or matches taking place. (22308)

Mansion House Swim, Tennis & Dive is a beautiful club located near George Washington’s Mount Vernon. It offers established swim, dive, and tennis programs plus social activities throughout the summer months. (22309)

Situated on George Washington’s former farmland, the Mount Vernon Country Club offers a 25-meter competition-quality pool, along with a wading pool and poolside grill. Children have the opportunity to join the Club’s competitive swim team. Its members also enjoy a championship golf course and a variety of social activities. (22309)

Highland Park Swim & Tennis Club is located two blocks from Lee District Park and includes a 6-Lane swimming pool, a large baby pool for children under the age of 7 years, a diving well – with two 1m diving boards, two tennis courts refurbished in 2015, sport courts for basketball, hockey, volleyball, and shuffleboard, a snack bar serving both hot and cold food, a bathhouse built in 2008, a picnic area with 12 picnic tables and two charcoal grills. Virginia Hills Pool is located in the center of the Virginia Hills Community. Facilities include a 6-lane 25-meter main pool with a separate diving well, slide, and shallow area, a fenced Baby/Toddler pool with sprinkler, extensive deck and lawn area for sunbathing or relaxing in the shade, a snack bar with attached eating area, a swing set and tot lot, a basketball court, and sheltered areas reservable for private parties.
