Westover is a delightful North Arlington community located just south of I-66. The community is an excellent example of midcentury urbanism and as such, is highly walkable. Served by several bus lines and the Ballston and the East Falls Church Metro stops on the popular Orange and Silver Lines, Westover is commuter’s dream.
Westover began in the 1890s as one of the small communities that developed along newly- established electric rail lines in northern Virginia. The Westover Shopping Center was constructed in 1940 and remains an anchor for the neighborhood today. The active Westover Baptist Church also dates back to 1940 and remains a vital part of the community.
