Tantallon, a community in Fort Washington draws its name from a Scottish castle. Famed golf course architect Jim Thompson created the Tantallon Golf & Country Club, which serves as the focal point of the area. Today, it is called the National Golf Club at Tantallon; it is the only Ted Robinson-designed course on the East coast.
Local History
Tantallon is comprised of several subdivisions surrounding Swan Creek and the golf course such as Tantallon Hills and Tantallion on the Potomac. Its homes were built a half-century ago, with the goal of being a destination community. Its upscale homes (many of which are custom-built) country club, and marina, continue to attract househunters looking for these amenities.
