Lyon Village is located just north of the Clarendon-Courthouse corridor in North Arlington. The neighborhood is conveniently located near Wilson Boulevard and Lee Highway. It has a friendly, suburban neighborhood feel and is walking distance to numerous shops. With only one traffic light between the neighborhood and DC, the commute for District workers cannot be beat.
Lyon Village was once the location of Fort Strong, one of the 33 forts on the Virginia side of the Potomac River that protected Washington DC during the Civil War. In 1923, developer Frank Lyon purchased the land for residential development. Many single-family homes in the area were constructed in the 1920s.
