Old Town boutiques The Shoe Hive, The Hive, Bellacara, and Bishop Boutique have partnered to offer a themed, curated box of treats each week. The special Mother’s Day boutique box ($235) includes a black bamboo bag from Bishop Boutique, hoop earrings from The Shoe Hive, Clarins lip oil and a clutch from Bellacara, plus a week of virtual classes from Mind the Mat. This independent bookstore is offering two Mom’s Day deals: a fresh, hand-arranged bouquet ($20) and a “Surprise Bookish Bundle” ($50). The bundle is filled with books and related gifts, includingits “Read Local” bag. When ordering, you can leave instructions and reading preferences (favorite genres, authors, etc.) so the store can personalize this bundle for Mom. Fleurir Chocolates

If Mom is a chocoholic, check out Old Town’s artisan chocolate shop, Fleurir. The New York Times called its Salted Caramel one of the best in the whole country! Its gorgeous truffles include flavors like Grand Marnier Orange Blossom, Carrot Cake, Almond Amaretto, Lavender Shiraz, Sesame Hazelnut, Irish Coffee, Rosebud Cardamom, and many more. Enchanted Florist, an Old Town favorite, is offering “no contact” delivery for Mother’s Day. Its custom designs start at $200 and for that special mom, extra special blooms like peonies, lilac or hyacinth can be added. Call the shop at 703.836.7777 to place your order. 

For the DIY-ers: Atelier Ashley Flowers is selling a tool bundle and mini arrangement for Mother’s Day. The package includes a  mini flower bouquet, a 4” cube vase, a Swiss Army floral knife, Japanese design clippers, tiny scissors, and design tape. You can use the tools for years to come! The package cost $175 plus delivery. Atelier Ashley Flowers is also selling Mother’s Day bouquets (starting at $150) with free delivery in 22314!

Mother’s Day Meals

Live Oak (1603 Commonwealth Avenue) has teamed up with Stretch Moves wellness studio to offer mom a special Mother’s Day package. It includes brunch for two ($50) or four-six people ($115) plus a wellness bundle, consisting of Stretch’s Stress Reducer, How To Improve Your Sleep, and Feel Good Flow programs. You can place your order hereOrders must be placed by May 6 for pickup on the afternoon of May 9. 

The whole family will enjoy dinner from the Mount Vernon Inn. Prices start at $55.99 plus tax for two people. Meals include a choice of herb-crusted roasted pork loin with an apricot glaze or shaved roasted prime beef in au jus, plus four sides, salad, and dessert. You can add on a bottle of wine too! Meals will be available for pick up (3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway) on Saturday, May 9.

Simplify Mother’s Day dinner with Cedar Knoll’s Mother’s Day menu. The $50 meal ($20 for children) includes chicken cordon bleu, beef tenderloin, risotto, springtime cookies, and more. Orders by Thursday, May 7, by calling 703-780-3665 or emailing reservations@cedarknollva.com. Delivery is available within five miles, otherwise, meals will be available for pickup (9030 Lucia Lane) on Mother’s Day between 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

For dessert, check out Old Town’s Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams (102 S. Patrick Street). Jeni’s will deliver pre-packed collections of its delectable ice cream, in six ($68) or nine ($98) packs through Saturday, May 9. These ice creams have been created especially for moms with flavors like Brambleberry Crisp, Gooey Butter Cake, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, Texas Sheet Cake, Frose Sorbet, and Raspberry Rose jelly doughnut.
