Some big changes are coming to the north end of Old Town. Two mostly mixed-use buildings featuring retail and a 13,460 square feet arts venue will be developed and will spur Old Town’s ever-growing arts district.
The main focus of the development known as Montgomery Center will be split into a T-shape courtyard connecting the retail and arts center spaces as well as 331 residential units. The site will include over 23,000 square feet of retail space and over 20,000 square feet of arts space. It will also feature an event area. Renderings of an ice skating rink are one potential concept for the open space.
The Montgomery Center will be bordered by N. Royal Street and Fairfax Street to the north and south and Madison and Montgomery Streets to the east and west.
Underground parking will also be included on-site.
