Crystal City Parks

Crystal City, located just south of DC in Arlington County, offers many exciting outdoor parks in the midst of its high rise office and residential buildings. Take your family or stroll or bike on your own to these beautiful outdoor Crystal City parks that are so appealing!

Crystal City Water Park

The Crystal City Water Park has so much to offer. Whether you want to read quietly by the beautiful fountains, play games on the giant chess boards or ping pong tables, or listen to live music, this park has it all. It is great for kids and families, as well as date nights. There is plenty of seating at the tables and Adirondack chairs. The entrance to the Mount Vernon Trail is nearby, which is plus for runners and bikers. The VRE has a station next to the park to make for easy public transportation. Make sure to check out Fridays at the Fountain, which runs from May through September. The pop-up beer garden and live music is a “can’t miss” during the summer months. It is a free event with food and drinks for purchase, and there’s a new band every week.

Courtyard Green Park

Crystal Drive
Located in the heart of Crystal City near the Metro stop, the Courtyard Green Park is the perfect spot to enjoy the outdoors. The park sits between Richmond Highway and the GW Parkway. You can grab lunch at one of the many surrounding restaurants, and take a seat at the outdoor tables. Whether you enjoy the park’s cherry blossoms during the spring or the leaves changing colors during the fall, this park is truly a haven in the middle of the city. Insider tip, grab some pizza from nearby We, The Pizza to enjoy in the park!

Four Mile Trail

Four Mile TrailNestled in between Potomac Avenue and Richmond Highway, the Four Mile Trail runs through this cosmopolitan neighborhood of Potomac Yard. Its outdoor spaces intersect the running and biking trails, and quiet sidewalks lead to shops and restaurants. The Potomac Yard Transitway stops in front of the local Harris Teeter. Be sure to walk around or check out the bike path that takes you over the water to Potomac Yard Center.

The Eclipse on Center Park

3600 S. Glebe Road
The best of many worlds, The Eclipse on Center Park offers convenience and relaxation. Hop a bike from the Capital Bikeshare and make your way to Alexandria or DC in minutes on the nearby Mount Vernon Trail.

Cheerios Park

We’reCheerios Park not sure how the name of this park originated but we love it! Tiny (.6 acre) Cheerios Park in the center of Crystal City is the perfect spot to enjoy an outdoor lunch (Perfect Pita and Chipotle are both nearby) on one of its many benches. You can also pick up a bike at the nearby Capital Bikeshare.

As you can see, while Crystal City may seem like an urban jungle, there are plenty of pockets of green open spaces nestled throughout. So grab the kids or your lunch and a good book and check one of Crystal City parks out soon!
