A Miami Weekend Getaway: Compass Style

In honor of Spring Break and Nationals Spring Training – we’re traveling to Miami in our new monthly series #travelwithcompass! You can see all of our #travelwithcompass features here. Amit Bhuta, Jade Kalbacher, and William LengyelThis month, we are featuring some of our team members’ favorite spots from recent trips to Miami as well as some amazing insider tips from Miami Compass superstar agents Amit Bhuta, Jade Kalbacher, and William Lengyel

Amit’s team is super dialed into the best places in town which they explore in their Must See Miami series and their weekly weekend guide. Sue loved getting to meet them on her latest trip.  Our Coconut Grove Compass location is stunning and literally right across from the beach.  I can’t wait to visit myself!

What is your favorite hotel in town?

Biltmore Hotel Amit: The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables is great. It has one of the most wonderful swimming pools I’ve ever seen, a very nice restaurant, golf, and tennis.

Sue: The Edition! We had stayed at The New York Edition before and loved it (they have a very cool Clocktower Bar) – and now love The Edition in Miami as well. It has two pools, a beachfront location and is minutes to South Beach. You are treated like a queen!

Allison: I am obsessed with The Delano! While I haven’t stayed there (yet), I was awestruck by the decor when I went to one of the restaurants on the property a couple of years ago. Everything is perfection!

What are the must-visit restaurants?

Amit: I was trying to come up with my top five list of my favorite places to eat. It was impossible! I love Thai food and did a taste test on my favorite ones, which you can read more about here. Another favorite place is a place called The Salty Donut. There’s a wonderful ice cream place in Wynwood that was rated the best ice cream store in Miami. I did a show on it which you can watch here!

Stiltsville Fish Bar Sue: Marty and I visited Stiltsville Fish Bar and had a fantastic meal! It’s a casual but chic spot with – as advertised – fresh, locally-caught fish.

Allison: For amazing Italian food with a great scene, I love Cecconi’s. The outdoor garden is beautiful!

Do you have any recommendations for fun neighborhoods to check out?

Amit: A favorite place for many locals is the Design District and Wynwood. Here is a video that gives you a sense of the local flavor.
