Hi! I’m Allison Goodhart DuShuttle. As you can probably tell by my name, I’ve been around the real estate industry for most of my life. I’ve gotten to know every facet of the family business over the years, from putting flags and signs in Del Ray lawns as a child to my current position as a lead agent. And of course, I’ve gained experience in every integral part and position along the way.
For the past decade, I’ve enjoyed helping our clients navigate the ins and outs of the real estate world.
After graduating with honors from Dickinson College, I earned my real estate license and officially began my career full-time in the industry. I was lucky enough to also work in NYC with Barbara Corcoran, “New York’s Queen of Real Estate,” and one of the investors on ABC’s Shark Tank, from whom I gained invaluable skills in real estate and beyond. You can even spot me on the inside cover of Barbara’s book, Nextville!
My favorite part of the real estate process is helping buyers find that special property that ushers them into the next stage of their life.
In 2015, I was nationally recognized by Realtor Magazine, a premiere publication who named me one of their “30 Under 30.” I’ve been a speaker at numerous real estate conferences and have appeared several times on CNN, Good Morning Washington and Let’s Talk Live as a real estate advisor. I’ve also been quoted by many news sources such as the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and Curbed DC.
I was born and raised in Alexandria, and have also lived in the Rosslyn neighborhood of Arlington, as well as the Kalorama, Adams Morgan, and Georgetown neighborhoods in DC. Living in each area has given me first-hand insight into the community, and to what kind of homebuyer would enjoy it the most. I’ve currently settled in Old Town and can usually be found making the most of this wonderful area with my husband Doug and our baby boy Brooks, as well as our friends, and family.
I’m constantly working behind the scenes to make sure everything is on track for every client, from the moment they meet us until well after they close on their home.
When I’m not working, I love checking out the Old Town Farmers’ Market, enjoying new restaurants or live events, relaxing with a good glass of wine, and being near the water as much as I can. When I’m able to travel, I like to explore how people live and play in their own communities, and always take time to admire the different styles and types of homes.
This community holds a special place in my heart, and I’m happy to give back to local charities. I’m a proud co-chair of the Advisory Council for The Fund for Alexandria’s Child, and a member of the Junior Friends of The Campagna Center where I serve on the Board as the Public Relations Chair. This year, I am co-chair of The Campagna Center’s annual Bright Futures benefit. Previously, I have co-chaired the Heather & Greens sale as part of the Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend in Alexandria.
