Hi! I’m Allison {Goodhart} DuShuttle. As you can probably tell by my name, I’ve been around the real estate industry for most of my life. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know every facet of the business, which has prepared me well for my current role as Lead Agent on the team.

As a child, I would help my parents with their marketing efforts by putting flags and signs in Del Ray lawns. I happily got my real estate license as soon as I was old enough (age 18!) so that I could help out at the office on breaks from school. On one such break, I was lucky enough to spend the summer in NYC working with Barbara Corcoran, “New York’s Queen of Real Estate,” and one of the investors on ABC’s Shark Tank. It was a great experience from which I gained invaluable skills in real estate and beyond (you can even spot me on the inside cover of Barbara’s book, Nextville!)

After graduating with honors from Dickinson College in 2008, I began working full-time for The Goodhart Group.

Over the last decade, I’ve worked in every role on the team and have gained experience in the minutia of each part of the buying and selling process.

In 2015, I was nationally recognized by Realtor magazine, a premiere nationwide publication who named me one of their “30 Under 30.” I’ve been a speaker at numerous real estate conferences and appeared on television several times –  on CNN, Good Morning Washington, and Let’s Talk Live. I’ve also been quoted by many news sources such as the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, and Curbed DC.

While that part of the business is thrilling, my favorite part of my job is helping clients through what can be a difficult decision-making process when they are buying or selling a home. I love helping our clients achieve their real estate goals and transition into the next stage of their lives. In the office, I’m constantly working behind the scenes to make sure our team’s systems and processes are streamlined, so that the real estate process is smooth for every client – from the moment they meet us until well after they close on their home.

Born and raised in Alexandria, this community holds a special place in my heart, and I’m happy to give back to the local charities that make it so wonderful.

I’m a proud member of the Junior Friends of The Campagna Center, where I serve on the Board as the co-chair for The Campagna Center’s annual Bright Futures benefit. Previously, I have co-chaired the Heather & Greens sale as part of the Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend in Alexandria and have served as the group’s Public Relations Chair. I’m also actively involved in the Advisory Council for The Fund for Alexandria’s Child, which I co-chaired for three years.

I’ve currently settled in Old Town and can usually be found making the most of this wonderful area with my husband, Doug, and our son Brooks. I’ve also lived in the Rosslyn neighborhood of Arlington, as well as the Kalorama, Adams Morgan, and Georgetown neighborhoods of DC. Living in each area has given me first-hand insight into the community, and to what kind of homebuyer would enjoy it the most.

When I’m not working, I love visiting the Old Town Farmers’ Market, enjoying new restaurants and live performances in DC and Alexandria with friends and family, relaxing at home with a good glass of wine, and spending time near the water. I love to travel whenever possible, exploring how people live and play in their own communities. I always take time to admire the different styles and types of homes – wherever I happen to be.
