Lyon Village History

Lyon Village was once the location of Fort Strong, one of the 33 forts on the Virginia side of the Potomac River that protected Washington DC during the Civil War. In 1923, developer Frank Lyon purchased the land for residential development. Many single-family homes in the area were constructed in the 1920s.
