Hi, I’m Sue Goodhart. I’m a true believer in loving where you live, which is why I’ve called the Washington, DC area home for the past 35 years. To me, real estate isn’t just about liking your house, but about finding a home and community that you’re truly passionate about, and a neighborhood and culture you’re immersed in. That’s how I feel about our great area and why I’ve loved selling real estate here for over 20 years.
I love helping others enjoy this area just as much as I do.
I’ve been in the real estate industry for 24 years, but my professional experience extends far beyond that. I earned my master’s in City Planning from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts from Dickinson College, which both served me well during my 14 years working as a small business owner in Old Town. With those years of hard work and experience under my belt, I made the switch to real estate in 1992, and became a licensed agent in DC, Virginia, and Maryland.
I’m a strong believer in giving back to the community that has supported my family for so many years, so I’m active in several local charities.
I serve as President of the Council of Directors of St. Coletta’s of Greater Washington, as a member of the Council of Directors of The Campagna Center, as a member of the Advisory Council for The Fund For Alexandria’s Child, and as a member of the Symphony Orchestra League of Alexandria and the Supporting Friends of the Campagna Center.
In 2008, my husband Marty and I were named the Small Business Philanthropists of the Year by the Alexandria Volunteer Bureau. In 2016, I was honored to receive the “Golden Halo Award” from the Junior Friends of the Campagna Center. This year, my daughter and business partner, Allison, and I were honored by the Alexandria Senior Services Association with a “Generation to Generation” award.
I’ve been McEnearney Associates’ Top Producing agent since 2003. In 2006, the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors honored me with a membership in the Top Twenty Residential Sales Agents’ Club, where I was recognized for my achievement in sales volume and number of houses sold. I’ve also achieved lifetime status as Top Producer with Northern Virginia Board of Realtors. Our team, The Goodhart Group, was also recognized nationally by the Wall Street Journal as a top team in the United States, as well as locally by both the Washingtonian and Northern Virginia magazines. I am frequently quoted in both national and local media, such as the Washington Post and Chicago Tribune.
When I’m not working or volunteering, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Marty, and my daughters, Allison and Amanda. I make the most of Washington’s vibrant community by proudly cheering on local teams at games, checking out the latest restaurants and shops with friends, and traveling.
