The following charts track four leading market indicators, and are updated on or about the 10th of every month. “New Pendings” shows the number of contracts ratified each month and is the best indication of the direction of the market. And please note that it is not unusual to see significant monthly change, both up and down, in the Average Sales Price chart. We use zip codes as the basis for these indicators to ensure there are sufficient data to make the charts relevant. Rosemont is located west of Old Town Alexandria between Taylor Run and Del Ray. Developed in the early 20th century, Rosemont is the city’s oldest planned residential expansion. Like Del Ray, Rosemont was intended to be a “street car suburb.” The plan would have connected the community with Washington, D.C. and Mt. Vernon by electric rail. Instead, the community of Rosemont turned its focus towards its role as a showcase for 20th century home design. In 1992, The Rosemont Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Quality of Life:
Rosemont is closely integrated into the life of Old Town. The community is close to upper King Street, which boasts an array of wonderful bistros, restaurants and boutique shops. There are even hotels for the in-laws. Like their neighbors in Taylor Run, Rosemont residents are close to Shooter’s Hill and the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. The memorial affords a presidential view of the City of Alexandria to those who take the tour to the top. Day trips to Arlington, Mt. Vernon and D.C are easy to plan and getting around is a breeze.
Rosemont is a cozy place to call home. There is a wonderful selection of townhomes, bungalows and stately colonials. The community is as friendly as the tree-lined streets are welcoming.
Living in Rosemont means convenience. Both the King Street Metro and Braddock Road Metro stations are within walking distance. Enjoy unprecedented access to King Street, Braddock Road and Mt. Vernon Avenue. For those with a longer commute, I-495 is nearby, as is the George Washington Parkway.
