Jackson 20 is our go-to brunch place in Old Town, offering a southern inspired traditional brunch menu. They also have wonderful specials on mimosas – especially for large groups – with magnum bottles of champagne. Located in the heart of Old Town, Bread & Chocolate is a great option for either a quick breakfast or a sit-down meal. Bread & Chocolate offers a wide range of pastries and breakfast options for everyone. Its weekend brunch menu includes a selection of omelets, French Benedicts, and French Toasts.

One of Old Town’s newest waterfront spots, Hummingbird offers breakfast every day and the options are plentiful! From Avocado Toast to a full Irish Breakfast. It is sure to please everyone, not to mention the views of the Potomac as the sun rises!

Every Sunday, the Royal Restaurant has a buffet and omelet station. The buffet includes waffles, French Toast, bacon, sausage, and more. Their normal breakfast menu features just about every breakfast food you can imagine. There’s no chance you will leave this restaurant hungry!

Views, views, views! Café 44 is the perfect place to have breakfast while you watch the sunrise on the Potomac. They say, “come for the food, stay for the view” and that could not be truer! With Waffle Wednesday and French Toast Friday you will have to try the rest of their large menu on the other days of the week! They also have special events for just about every holiday.

Del Ray Cafe

Served on Saturdays, Sundays and major holidays, the brunch at Del Ray Cafe is delicious. Their brunch menu consists of many starters, eggs, and omelets, including the option to create your own two-egg omelet. Also, their sweet or savory crêpes are available at any time during the day, so if you are in the mood for breakfast food in the afternoon, Del Ray Cafe is the perfect choice.
2309 Mount Vernon Avenue
The Stomping Ground has a fabulous breakfast selection, from breakfast chilaquiles to quinoa bowls. Everything in the restaurant is handmade from scratch using local and sustainable products. Be sure to try their breakfast grit bowl, consisting of anson mills grits, smoked gouda, chorizo, and more. Unfortunately, their breakfast is not offered all day, so if you miss breakfast, stay for their great lunch selection!
Junction Bakery and Bistro
1508 Mount Vernon Avenue
Also in Del Ray, Junction Bakery and Bistro’s morning pastries and toasts are perfect for a light breakfast. Heartier options are also available (such as the Kim Chee – roasted pork shoulder, housemade kimchi and a fried egg on a brioche roll). Junction is also home to the Grateful Juice Co. and its handcrafted, freshly pressed juices, like Green Eyed Lady or Pomegranate. Junction also sells whole cakes in amazing flavors such as Coffee Chocolate and Banana Peanut Butter.

Originally from North Carolina’s Outer Banks, these sinful donuts have made their way to Alexandria. Duck Donuts are delicious, handmade and fried to perfection.
